🌸 Traditional Way to Raise the Gudi 🌸
Begin by taking a sturdy bamboo stick and fastening the auspicious Gudhi cloth securely at the top. Place a polished copper or bronze kalash upside down over the tied cloth, forming the sacred Gudi structure. Install the Gudi at the entrance of your home in a high and noticeable position. It is believed that the Gudi should be raised early in the morning and worshipped shortly after sunrise to invite prosperity and positive energy.
First, purify the chosen spot by cleaning it thoroughly. Draw a sacred Swastik rangoli on the floor and offer haldi and kumkum at its center as a symbol of good fortune.
Keep a wooden plank (chowki) over the rangoli and spread rice grains on it. Position the bamboo stick upright over the rice. Offer traditional sweets as prasad, with Puran Poli being the customary delicacy prepared for this auspicious occasion.
Decorate the bamboo with a new cloth or sari, fresh flowers, neem leaves, and sugar garlands. Secure everything neatly with thread and place a silver or decorative kalash (gadu) on top.
Finally, lift and secure the Gudi firmly in place. The beautifully adorned Gudi symbolizes victory, happiness, and the welcoming of a prosperous New Year.
