Description

  • 🌸 Swami Mauli – Gudi Padwa Special 🌸

Swami Mauli is a devotional expression lovingly used by devotees to refer to Swami Samarth with deep affection and faith. The word “Mauli” means one who is as caring and compassionate as a mother. Devotees use this term to express the divine love, protection, and blessings they feel from Swami Samarth.

In many devotional traditions of Maharashtra, the word Mauli is also used with Vitthal, symbolizing the Lord’s nurturing and protective nature toward His devotees.

During the auspicious festival of Gudi Padwa, devotees decorate their homes and raise the Gudi as a symbol of victory, prosperity, and new beginnings. Using sacred symbols and devotional prints like Swami Mauli on the Gudi Vastra adds a spiritual touch to the celebration and invites divine blessings for the coming year.

This devotional sentiment reflects faith, love, and the belief that the divine always watches over and protects devotees with compassion

  • How to Set Up the Gudi – Traditional Method

Take a medium-sized bamboo stick and securely tie the traditional cloth to its top end. Then place a clean copper or bronze pot upside down over the cloth. The prepared Gudi should be installed at the entrance of your home in a visible and prominent spot so that everyone can see it. The celebration begins early in the morning, and the Gudi is worshipped within five to ten minutes after sunrise.

    1. Select a clean place to install the Gudi. Clean the area properly and draw a Swastik rangoli on the floor. Offer turmeric and kumkum (haldi-kumkum) at the center of the Swastik as a mark of auspiciousness.

    2. While erecting the Gudi, invoke the divine energy of the Shiva–Shakti principle so that all elements of the Gudi receive positive and sacred vibrations.

    3. Place a wooden plank (chowki/channel) on the spot where the rangoli is drawn. Spread some rice grains on the plank and position the bamboo stick over the rice. Offer sweets as prasad; traditionally, Puran Poli is prepared as the main offering.

    4. Tie a fresh and clean cloth or sari to the bamboo. Decorate it with flowers, neem leaves, and sugar garlands (gathi). Secure everything with thread and cover the top with a silver or metal kalash (gadu).

    5. Finally, firmly position and raise the decorated Gudi on the prepared base.

  • Design: Made of high quality khun silk fabric. It has multiple pleats which gives it beautiful look.
